Peridot View

Peridot View can accommodate up to 2 young people either males or females or a mix of both aged between 8 to 17 years on admission. Peridot View caters for looked after children with emotional and behavioural difficulties being that of their primary care need. (EBD)

Peridot View will provide care and support for children / young people, and we are prepared to consider placements for children / young people exhibiting a wide range of behavioural difficulties. We do acknowledge that all children / Young people can be subject to occasional outbursts of anger that can develop into violent episodes and are equipped to work with this type of behaviour. We also have the knowledge and skills base to work with children / young people who are remanded into the care of the local authority, the home can work closely with bail and remand to offer the support required for the young people in preparation for all court hearings and possible movement into custody, back home or into another residential setting.

House Overiew

Peridot View is a semi-detached 4-bedrooms house within a multicultural area of Bloxwich, Walsall. Peridot View itself is a spacious building providing accommodation for up to 2 children / young people. We provide care to children / young people of both genders between the ages of 8 to 17 years old on admission. The staff reflect the culturally and ethnically diverse nature of the local community and provide care and support to children/ young people who may have experienced abuse, neglect and exclusion in the past in a flexible and relaxed fashion. The staff at Peridot View recognise the need that many children / young people must regain control of their lives and their behaviour and provide the necessary structure and boundaries to enable them to do so.

Peridot View is for children / young people who experience behavioural and emotional difficulties, Learning difficulties and social difficulties and who may have suffered abuse, neglect, exploitation and exclusion in the past. Peridot View will also accept planned and emergency admissions. Whenever a decision is made to admit a child / young person the needs of the child concerned as well as the other children /young people already in placement are considered.

Peridot View offers short, medium to long term and emergency placements for children/ young people and preparation for the next step in their lives whether it is a return home, a move to another placement or the transition to independence. The provision of a key worker for each child / young person ensures that all children / young people receive the level of support and direction they require to benefit fully from their experience of being looked after at Peridot View.
